L82 Sealings and Tablets

Seal impression, almost complete, but has several chips around the edge. The obverse shows it was comprised of overlapping several pieces of clay, slightly smoothed. There are impressions of fingerprints and possible textile. There are four seal impressions: two scenes or two parts of the same seal. A cylinder seal was used as stamp seal here. In the deepest impression, imprints of the vertical grooves on the seal's top are visible. Two scenes show god with right foot on symbolic mountain. His arm is bent at the elbow and slightly extended. In front, facing him, is supplicant figure in long skirt with a raised arm and the head obscured. The other scene shows upper parts of the bodies of two figures, one of which is wearing seven tiered, horned crown.

Sealing fragment made up of three pieces put together, shows four impressions of the same seal, also seen on object L82-87. Fingerprints on the upper surface of the sealing. The clearest image is on the lower part of the seal (2x1.2cm) and it shows figures from feet to waist. Below this, a second impression has the upper part of bodies, but it is smudged. The third impression has only the left foot of a robed man and is located above and slightly to the left of the largest impression. The clay of this object was poorly levigated.

Clay jar stopper in fagile condition, with imprint of the jar mouth on its underside. The conical upper part has faint a seal impression repeated twice. The scene shows (from left to right) a male figure with his left arm hanging and right arm raised facing a figure in long skirt with right arm raised from elbow. Behind the second figure is a shorter figure with a star or some shape above it. The fourth figure has its right arm raised at elbow and is very faint. Height of seal ca. 1.7cm. The sealing is on poorly levigated, buff clay with medium pebble inclusions and straw and grit temper.
